AMARILLO PIONEER: Republican Chris Ekstrom has picked up another big endorsement in his bid for Congress.
On Tuesday, Ekstrom’s campaign announced its latest endorsement from U.S. Rep. Ron Wright (R-Arlington). Wright issued a statement through Ekstrom’s campaign, saying that the businessman and congressional hopeful is the “political outsider” that voters need in Washington.
“As a member of the House Freedom Caucus I can tell you firsthand that Chris Ekstrom is the political outsider and Texan we need with us in Congress.” Wright said. “Chris is a courageous conservative who has spent years in the trenches fighting for the convictions we hold dear. He is a job-creating businessman who understands how to promote economic growth. His proven record leaves no doubt that he will be a fighter for the Trump agenda and someone Texans can trust when it comes to battling the Socialist Democrats in Washington D.C. I’m proud to endorse Chris Ekstrom for Congress and call him a friend.”
This is Ekstrom’s third endorsement by a prominent conservative lawmaker since launching his bid for U.S. Rep. Mac Thornberry’s seat. Ekstrom’s campaign also boasts the endorsements of U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Alabama) and Texas State Rep. Jonathan Stickland (R-Bedford).
Ekstrom is one of 15 Republicans vying for the congressional seat in 2020. The Republican primary will be held on March 3, 2020.
